State of the Ministry Pt. II

Hello,

Here is a video I put together to further explain the role of Small Group Leader and Storyteller.  Please continue to call and email me with questions.

Hello Friend,

I hope this Summer finds you well.  I know many of you take some time off from volunteering on Sundays during this season and I hope and pray that this time was refreshing for you.  As the Director of New Life Kids I wanted to send you an email to sort of give you a "State of the Ministry" email.

As I've been praying, thinking and planning for the fall, I've realized something.  We are not at a good place with regard to our volunteers.  Now, my goal is not for this email to be doom and gloom, but here's the reality:

We are growing quite steadily as a church.
More and more families are coming through our doors.  At the same time, we don't have the volunteer support that is needed to serve children and families.  I believe that we have the potential to be one of the most exciting children's ministries in NYC, but it's only going to happen if volunteers get engaged.

This September, you have the opportunity to be more than an activity leader and more than a "helper."  You can be more than the person who watches a kid for 1 hour a week. You have the opportunity to lead each individual child into a growing relationship with their Heavenly Father. You have the opportunity, this year, to be a part of each child's story of faith.

We have two essential roles that we need volunteers for.  If we don't get enough volunteers, we will have to shut down a significant portion of kids ministry.
  • New Life Kids especially needs consistent small group leaders: We need leaders who will decided to serve the Lord as a children's small group leader (Toddler, Preschool, Elementary). (1 service a week- 1 hour)
  • New Life Kids needs growing storytellers: Storytellers who will work and grow in their craft of communicating the Bible creatively. (1 Sunday a month, both services)
I'm asking if you would consider serving consistently with us.  You have the opportunity to play a significant role in the lives of our kids.

Please let me know how you would like to serve by next week, August 22nd. You'll even get a cool t-shirt!!!!  =)

P.S. If you have any questions about either role, please don't hesitate to call or email me.

P.S. 2- Elementary Small Group Leader meeting is still on for Sunday, August 28th.

Blessings,

Rosie Villodas
Director, New Life Kids
